The Deliveroo Enterprise Technology team is responsible for creating and maintaining the IT services that power Deliveroo's global operations. We are dedicated to continuous improvement, automation, and a cloud-first approach.

About the Role

As a Network Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing our networking environments. You will contribute to the delivery of business projects, ensure service level adherence, and provide technical support. Your expertise in systems engineering, automation, and troubleshooting will be highly valued.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days of work per week at our London office. You will report directly to our Lead Network Engineer.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the entire lifecycle of network services, from design and engineering to deployment and ongoing operations, with a focus on reliability.
  • Design, plan, test, and survey wireless networks.
  • Manage the configuration of firewalls, switches, and wireless network hardware.
  • Resolve operational incidents and requests, continuously improving our network environments to prevent future issues. This includes support for both office-based networking and Deliveroo Editions, our delivery-only kitchen business.
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation.
  • Monitor service health by tracking key indicators such as availability, ticket trends, and overall performance against established service level objectives (SLOs).
  • Drive sustainable system improvements through automation using Python and API self-service. Continuously evolve services to enhance reliability and operational velocity.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and records using IPAM and Confluence.
  • Assist the team in maintaining up-to-date network documentation.
  • Provide third-line escalation support for network-related issues.
  • Ensure that the network and its systems meet current security requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team on projects to build new sites, including developing high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in wireless networking.
  • A self-motivated and driven individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. You are collaborative, adaptable to change, and eager to learn quickly.
