Pharmacy Technician

Mid Norfolk Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a highly skilled pharmacy technician to join their team, supporting six GP practices and linked care homes across the Dereham area. This is a full-time position with flexible working options available.
Main Responsibilities- Support the clinical pharmacist at Primary Care Network Level, leading improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing.
- Carry out medicines switches in GP practices, reviewing patient records, amending records, and informing patients.
- Conduct housekeeping, dose optimisation, and medicines synchronisation while maintaining patient records.
- Improve prescribing processes in general practice, promoting electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.
- Report on key performance indicators for CPGP, demonstrating added value for patients and general practice in accordance with NICE guidance.
- Utilise and maintain relevant information systems and databases, including incident reporting, medicines optimisation, prescribing data, cost savings, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with GP practices and the ICB, participating in practice meetings, patient participation groups, and other meetings to enhance engagement.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences.
- Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy.
- Demonstrate experience working with other clinical professionals and as part of multi-disciplinary teams to influence patient care.
Mid Norfolk PCN consists of six GP surgeries working collaboratively as a group. The successful candidate will be part of this team, contributing to the improvement of patient care and the development of better understanding of medicines optimisation principles throughout the practice teams.
