Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will lead a statistical consultancy service for researchers, supporting investigators in trial design, funding application development, statistical analysis, and report writing for publications. They will also develop and apply advanced statistical programming to enhance service improvement initiatives and optimize processes.
About the Role
The Senior Medical Statistician and Statistical Programmer will report to the Head of Medical Statistics and Data Management and will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of medical statisticians. They will work closely with researchers to provide statistical expertise and support the development of clinical trials and research studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a statistical consultancy service for researchers
- Support investigators in trial design, funding application development, statistical analysis, and report writing for publications

Person Specification
The successful candidate will have a MSc in Medical Statistics or an equivalent degree and proficiency in Stata programming, specifically in writing .ado and .dlg files. They will also have significant experience as a medical statistician/statistical programmer in a CTU or similar organization in the UK and experience in leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team.
