Main Responsibilities

As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor at Curtis Law Solicitors, you will be part of a specialist team providing expert advice to clients navigating medical negligence claims. You will work closely with a Senior Associate to handle a diverse range of high-quality clinical negligence work, as well as contribute to the growth and development of the department through marketing and networking activities.

Key Tasks
  1. Manage a caseload of clinical negligence files, working under supervision to effectively handle cases and transactions.
  2. Ensure accurate time recording, WIP monitoring, and billing, meeting targets and objectives set by the firm.
  3. Directly engage with clients to take instructions and ensure a thorough understanding to deliver exceptional client service.
  4. Conduct research and draft articles, as well as assist in the production of marketing materials to promote the department's services.
  5. Develop a network of clients, contacts, and potential referrers, and participate in networking events to expand the department's reach.
  6. Support junior colleagues, provide feedback to aid their learning, and delegate tasks effectively where necessary.
  7. Understand, learn, and apply all relevant business processes applicable to your work, adapting to new processes as required.
  8. Perform fee-earning work accurately, reliably, and in accordance with the firm's quality and risk management procedures.
Requirements
  1. Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a strong background in claimant Clinical Negligence law.
  2. Proven ability to manage files with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent client management skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.
  4. Organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks.
  5. Self-sufficient and able to work independently.
  6. Experience with case management systems, preferably Proclaim.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of GDPR and Equality Standards.
