Job Title: Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer

Certain Advantage is seeking a highly skilled Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Assembly Operations business, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and improving internal Stores and Logistic processes to aid the delivery of missile systems to our UK & international customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and govern CI reviews to ensure they are robust and sustainable.
  2. Facilitate and run CI plans to enable the implementation of corrective & preventative actions.
  3. Support root cause analysis for externally supplied detail products.
  4. Reduce defective issues within the stores area of the business using an 8D / A3 methodology.
  5. Implement process controls & process capability based on critical stores and logistics process driven by both our internal and external customers.
  6. Facilitate PPS for Root cause analysis within the manufacturing & Logistic facilities.
  7. Facilitate Improvement activities within the manufacturing & Logistics' facility.
  8. Provide technical expertise on Lean tool sets and change management.
  9. Manage improvements into the business.

Requirements:

  1. Formal Technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.
  2. Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  3. BEng in relevant Engineering or Science Degree.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Strong Manufacturing & Warehousing background.
  2. Awareness of supply chain goods receiving practices.
  3. Understanding of MRP & Just in Time principals.
  4. Working in or supporting operations in a fast-paced production environment.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence teams outside of your direct reporting structure.
  6. The ability to form and maintain productive, working relationships across the functions.
  7. Experience in the use & understanding of Lean manufacturing & Six sigma methodologies.
  8. Experience in the use & understanding of CI & Quality tools.
  9. Leading practical problem-solving exercises with multi-functional teams.
  10. The ability to produce, maintain, and interpret data using a structured approach.
  11. Manage projects and or improvement from 'cradle to grave'.
  12. Experience in the use & understanding of Lean manufacturing systems tools and techniques & Minitab software.
  13. Having a sound understanding of manufacturing, Logistical, and engineering processes.
