Western Power is seeking a Senior Asset Engineer to join our team of experts in Perth, on an 18-month Maximum Term basis.

This exciting opportunity involves undertaking asset failure investigations and developing investigation reports for each reportable incident. As the Senior Asset Engineer, you will be accountable for conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA)/ICAM investigations to identify causes of failures and propose remedial actions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking technical asset failure investigations related to all asset failures/notifiable incidents on the LV and HV distribution network.
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), identifying causes of failures, and proposing appropriate remedial actions.
  • Carrying out and/or coordinating evidence collection and inspections of failed assets where required to assist in failure assessments.
  • Analysing asset failures using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and address potential problems or failures.
  • Conducting thorough assessments and incident trending analysis to identify areas of improvement.
  • Preparing incident investigation reports in a structured format to document findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on investigation outcomes.

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Eligible for Professional Engineer membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Significant engineering industry experience, preferably in conducting RCA/ICAM investigations.
  • Demonstrated track-record of combining comprehensive technical skills with exposure to risk management and governance processes.
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in maintenance and asset management related functions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
