About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a SEMH school in Rochdale. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
  • Assist students with literacy, numeracy, and general subject knowledge
  • Support individuals with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
  • Assist those with mental health needs and anxiety
  • Collaborate with the SEN team, senior leaders, and other professionals to provide holistic support
About the School

The school provides long-term placements for pupils who struggle within mainstream settings and have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many students who attend are Looked After Children in the care system.

Requirements
  • A minimum of six weeks' experience of working with children in the last three years supported by references
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work full-time in the UK
