Data Governance and Compliance Role

This position involves establishing, implementing, and maintaining governance frameworks and risk mitigation practices across Market Data Services. The successful candidate will ensure that all data operations comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Governance Implementation: Develop and enforce a data governance framework that aligns with corporate policies and industry standards.
  2. Design and implement policies, procedures, and controls to ensure effective data governance.
  3. Regularly review and update data governance frameworks to adapt to evolving regulations and business needs.
  4. Provide guidance and training to internal staff on governance policies and procedures.
  5. Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and prioritise risks within QRT data sphere, including operational, security, and compliance risks.
  6. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise potential impacts relating to data.
  7. Monitor risk mitigation processes and ensure risks are effectively communicated and managed across the organisation.
  8. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure ongoing risk mitigation effectiveness.
  9. Compliance and Audit: Ensure data activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  10. Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring that all findings are addressed and remediated in a timely manner.
  11. Maintain up-to-date documentation of compliance and risk mitigation activities.
  12. Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors concerning governance and compliance.
  13. Incident Management: Develop and maintain incident management processes to respond to and recover from production data incidents.
  14. Lead incident response activities, ensuring that incidents are managed effectively and lessons learned are incorporated into governance policies and procedures.
  15. Ensure timely reporting and communication of incidents to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data governance as an owner and/or steward, or a related role within a similar firm.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and data governance frameworks.
  • Experience in incident management and response.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
