The Business Connection seeks a highly skilled Precision Tooling Specialist to join our team. As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing NPI Tooling and Product CAD, ensuring consistent and precise tool designs. You will maintain and manage the existing customer CAD databases.

We are open to candidates with a background in product design who are eager to develop skills in Mould Tool Design, with on–the–job mentoring available. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop mould tools using SolidWorks, AutoCAD Lite, and other relevant software. You will work closely with the NPI and Operations teams to ensure new tool designs meet customer requirements and are suitable for injection moulding machines and platen sizes.

You will have a strong understanding of plastic material properties, steel hardness, and mechanical strength, allowing you to maximize tool longevity and reduce service intervals. Your ability to interpret 2D drawings and create 3D models from them, and vice versa, will be essential in this role.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be responsible for conducting compatibility studies, applying established plastic material shrinkage rates to tool design, and supporting the NPI and Operations teams with customer design evaluations. You will communicate key points effectively through PowerPoint presentations and maintain accurate data entry skills.

This role is ideal for a detail–oriented individual with a passion for precision tooling and product design, offering the opportunity to develop key skills in Mould Tool Design while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
