About The Role:

This position reports to the Flow Assurance Study Manager and provides flow assurance analysis and technical support to various projects undertaken by Genesis. The engineer will be part of the UK flow assurance team and the wider global flow assurance community.

The ideal candidate should be able to operate independently in performing and leading flow assurance studies and writing up results/reports, requiring limited if any, input and support from the team leader.

The engineer will be responsible for the content and quality of all Flow Assurance work undertaken on their assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with other disciplines for applicable engineering interfaces.
  • Develop engineering solutions to specific project requirements.
  • Develop flow assurance strategies, philosophies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and check flow assurance calculations and reports.
  • Undertake calculations in accordance with Genesis and project quality requirements.
  • Create and perform simulations of selected cases as defined.
  • Participate in flow assurance business development activities to support UK and other Genesis offices.
  • Participate in engineering coordination meetings.
  • Participate in Project presentations to communicate results.
  • Participate in safety and design review meetings, where necessary.
  • Participate in Genesis global flow assurance team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Support team leader and perform all reasonable job tasks required by supervisor.
  • Evaluate completion of safe and operable design following Genesis and project requirements, relevant laws, regulations, and codes.
  • Review and prepare job scopes and provide estimates and schedules.
  • Communicate regularly with the Client/Study Manager to ensure objectives are being met promptly.
  • Assist with the development of younger engineers.

About You

The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • A recognised flow assurance professional with upstream oil and gas experience.
  • Dedicated Flow Assurance experience using OLGA.
  • A first degree in Chemical Engineering (or related subject) and CEng &/or PEng or equivalent international qualifications.
  • Experience in flow assurance conceptual and front-end studies.
  • Experience in flow assurance in detailed design and/or operational support preferred.
  • Experience in marketing and business development is beneficial, including awareness of the local flow assurance market.
  • Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS Office software.
  • C02 flow assurance experience.
  • Experience with OLGA, PipeSIM / PipePhase, PVTSim,
  • Experience with Leda Flow, Maximus, PIPENET, Flow Master, CFD, and/or FEA would be preferable.
  • Solid understanding of thermodynamics and experience with Multiflash preferred.
  • Full command of the English language, verbal and written.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Good communication, good networking ability, and excellent social skills.
  • Stress resistance and flexibility.
  • Creative and flexible nature.
  • Leadership characteristics, enthusiasm, and ability to be a team builder.
  • Ability to work in an organised manner, individually and as part of a team.
  • Technical knowledge in related disciplines to judge and deal with problems.
  • Analytical and judgmental skills to find and implement proactive solutions.
  • Ability to explain flow assurance concepts straightforwardly.
  • Energy transition-focused flow assurance experience including H2 and CO2, is advantageous.
  • Ability to meet tight and multiple deadlines, and effective time management skills.
