Data Engineering Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. As a Senior Data Engineer with Qodea, you will be part of a team that enables the efficient processing and analysis of large, complex data sets.

This role offers a great opportunity to work on innovative projects with cutting-edge technology, utilizing Google Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated data processing pipelines using Google Cloud.

  • Data Ingestion and Storage: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to support data ingestion, ETL, and storage.
  • Data Quality and Troubleshooting: Build and maintain automated data pipelines to monitor data quality and troubleshoot issues.

Database and Data Storage Solutions: Implement and maintain databases and data storage solutions, including staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in big data and data engineering.

  • Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Data Model Design: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and optimize data models for analytical and reporting purposes.

Requirements:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL tools such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Apache Airflow.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Location: This role can be either fully remote or hybrid based depending on your preference. We have offices in London, Manchester, Swindon, and Edinburgh in the UK. You can choose to work from any of these office locations as often as you like.
