About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Steps Driver to join our team at Staffing Match. As a key member of our ground support team, you will be responsible for safely driving and operating aircraft steps to facilitate the embarkation and disembarkation of products at one of the world's busiest airports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drive and operate aircraft steps to allow products to be embarked and disembarked
  • Safely position step onto the aircraft
  • Carry out vehicle safety checks and report any issues
  • Collaborate with the allocations team to effectively communicate aircraft arrival times, delays, and secure cleaning turnaround times
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle is maintained
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, assisting them as required
  • Adhere to airline and airport policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Conduct security checks of the aircraft in line with covert testing procedures
  • Be professional in appearance and manner towards colleagues, clients, and other individuals within the airport and work location
Requirements
  • Hold a valid UK Driver's License - Category B
  • Always follow Group and company policies and procedures
  • Desirable previous experience as a driving steps and positioning onto aircrafts
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Flexibility and professionalism required
  • Strong attention to detail and vehicle maintenance knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
