Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Certification Engineer to join our Quality & Product Compliance department at Jaguar Land Rover. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to play a critical role in ensuring our vehicles meet worldwide regulatory standards and market entry criteria.

About the Role

This is a fantastic chance to work with our cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and testing, to certify new vehicle models and technologies for global markets. As a Certification Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of certification and homologation from concept to end-of-volume production, ensuring legislative requirements compliance on JLR programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and implement strategies to meet new rules, directives, and policies.
  • Report programme performance against agreed-upon timelines and activities.
  • Contribute to assessments of future and existing product modification procedures.
  • Respond to Product Direction Letters (PDLs) with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Homologation Market Support team to clarify specific issues affecting vehicle programs.
  • Obtain and maintain component and system approval certification.
  • Maintain accurate records for component and system approval Type Approval certifications.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in component/vehicle legislative function involving analysis of vehicle safety and interpretation of legislation.
  • Knowledge of certification and type approval systems/procedures.
  • Understanding of engineering release and control procedures.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office packages.
