About the Role:
The Aurora Group is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in achieving their full potential by providing individualized learning plans and strategies.
- Collaborate with the House Team Leaders and Tutors to develop and implement effective learning programs.
- Manage student behavior and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Work closely with the session tutor to develop a positive and constructive relationship that benefits the students.
- Use strategies to promote students' wider skills development, such as communication, self-advocacy, presentation skills, and teamwork.
- Provide one-on-one support to students as directed by the House Team Leaders and other Learning Support Practitioners.
Requirements:
- High expectations of students and ability to challenge and stretch each student at every opportunity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the House Team Leaders and Tutors to support students.
- Professional and effective management of student behavior.
- Ability to work a mixture of shifts, including 7am-3pm, 2pm-10pm, and 8am-6pm on a 3-week rota pattern.
