Job Summary

A unique opportunity has arisen to work with the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, delivering Occupational Health to staff across North West London and beyond. We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Band 7 Nursing Advisor for the Occupational Health Shared Service.

About the Role

You will be joining a vibrant team, which is nurse-led, dynamic, and friendly. As an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will be responsible for assessing employee fitness to work, protecting employee health at work, promoting employee health at work, and supporting individuals with disabilities in both gaining and sustaining employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct project work regarding the monitoring and audit of occupational health activities to ensure these are undertaken in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Act in a calm and professional manner at all times, affording courtesy to all with whom you may come in contact through the course of your work.
  • Plan and organise activities or programmes for your own area of work, and work with the OH Clinical Team Leader on service changes impacting outside your own direct area of activity.
  • Establish strong working relations with the authorised officers of the customer.
  • Interview and support clients through the various assessment processes and communicate complex and at times contentious information in a sensitive manner.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered General Nurse qualification.
  • Occupational Health Nurse Certificate/Diploma or BSc in Occupational Health related subject.
  • Responsibility for the management of a caseload or customer contract.
  • Supervision, instruction, training, and support of OH nursing and administrative staff.
  • Health and Safety Legislation, Code of practice, and Guidance notes.
  • Health Promotion initiatives/programmes.
  • Recruitment, Selection, and Appraisal of staff.
  • Audit projects assessing OH, SEQOHS.
