Senior Quantity Surveyor Leader

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at RSK Group.

This role will be based out of our Chesterfield or Northfleet offices with the option to work hybrid/flexibly when and where appropriate.

As a key member of our Leadership Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Contracts Director in managing contractual risks, evaluating pre-qualification submissions, and reviewing contractual terms.

You will also provide commercial guidance and support to our senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting all aspects of contract, commercial, and project management in the delivery of projects
  • Managing contractual risks imposed by Clients on specialist construction projects
  • Assessing pre-qualification submissions and tenders for larger and higher risk projects
  • Reviewing and agreeing contractual terms with Clients
  • Providing commercial guidance and support to the senior leadership team

Requirements for the role include:

  • Typically holds appropriate post-graduate qualifications in quantity surveying, contract management, and/or contract law (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of QS experience, or 10 years of PM experience, preferably in the construction sector
  • Familiar with all standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC, ICC, ACE, FIDIC) and knowledgeable in at least one
  • Detailed understanding of standard forms of contract, methods of measurement, and common specifications used in the construction industry
  • Ability to advise on the most contractually and economically appropriate solution on a project-by-project basis
  • Ability to negotiate with and convince colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Confident and reliable contributor to any team, able to develop a team and contribute to the development of people throughout the business
