NHS Scotland is one of the largest and most respected healthcare systems in the UK, employing over 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. With a wide range of services, including acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health care, we cater to a population of over 1.15 million, with our regional and national services reaching a wider audience of 2.2 million.
This is a permanent, part-time post for 15 hours per week, with a core hours shift pattern, offering Pro Rata salary benefits. As a valid UK NMC Pin holder, you'll be well-suited for this Band 6 role.
The Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) nurse specialist position supports patients with EB across Scotland, based within Dermatology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The role involves providing expert care for adults with EB in outpatient clinics and the community, as well as occasional support in the inpatient setting.
You will liaise directly with patients via telephone and video advice, run nurse-led clinics, and collaborate with existing EB clinics in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen. Clinics are conducted face-to-face or through the Attend Anywhere platform.
As an integral member of the nursing and multi-professional team, you'll work together to deliver high-quality person-centred care. You must be a suitably qualified nurse with the ability to develop and further develop specialty skills required by the post.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance to patients via telephone and video advice as needed.
- Lead and support nurse-led clinics and existing EB clinics across Scotland.
- Collaborate with the nursing and multi-professional team to ensure exceptional patient care.
NHS Scotland values diversity and promotes inclusion throughout the organisation. We encourage applications from all sections of the community and strive to create a welcoming environment for our diverse workforce.
We're committed to ensuring that our employees have a fair and flexible working arrangement. As NHS Scotland reduces its full-time working week to 37 hours, part-time staff will also benefit from a pro-rata reduction. Although there's no change in pay, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week during a temporary period.
Please note that original and authentic responses are expected for all application questions. While technology can aid in some tasks, candidates should provide honest and genuine answers without significant modification or assistance.
