Job Opportunity at Campden BRICampden BRI's Sensory testing services play a crucial role in helping food and drink companies create winning and quality products. Our highly trained sensor panels evaluate products using a wide range of methods, providing valuable insights for product development and improvement.
You will be supporting the Sensory Project Manager and the wider descriptive panel with projects and training, ensuring the smooth operation of our sensory testing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Panel Leader with all practical and administrative aspects of running descriptive projects, including panel facilitation and training sessions.
- Coordinate all Panel Acuity activities, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.
- Become proficient in the use of Compusense sensory data collection software, utilizing its features to enhance data analysis and reporting.
- Prepare samples safely using good food hygiene practices for assessment by the panel, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Coordinate sample receipt and organize the purchase, storage, and preparation of panel training and reference samples, ensuring their quality and availability.
- Support the panel Leader with the compilation of technical reports, including data analysis and interpretation.
- Support other Sensory Insights teams and projects as required, contributing to the overall success of our sensory testing services.
Requirements
- A degree in Food Science or Technology, or previous experience in a sensory science role or laboratory environment.
- Completion of the 'One Day Introduction to Sensory Analysis' course and '4 Day Sensory Evaluation Workshop' or equivalent training programs.
- Broad knowledge of multiple food categories, with a strong understanding of their characteristics and requirements.
- Excellent organizational, practical, and panel facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
