Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased) to join our client's team at their state-of-the-art UK facility. As an integral part of their automated distribution organisation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of their materials handling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical and mechanical support and repairs for all automated materials handling systems
  • Carry out Predictive Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and project work
  • Work on conveyors, automated stacker cranes, SCADA systems, barcode readers, scanners, cooling systems, refrigeration, site services, palletisers, automated turntables, PLCs, elevators
  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance of automated stacker cranes, which can operate up to 32 meters high
  • Maintain refrigeration, chiller systems, facilities, shutter doors, site, and building services
  • Assist in developing PPM schedules for all new machinery and systems

Requirements:

  • Must be a multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Ideal apprenticeship training
  • Happy working at heights - up to 32 meters on cranes
  • Ideal 18th Edition certification
  • Comfortable working in cold and freezer (-22 degrees) conditions
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ideal experience working in automated warehouse, distribution, FMCG, manufacturing
  • Experience in working on conveyors, rollers, stackers, refrigeration, chillers, site services
  • PLC-electrical fault-finding skills
  • Open character and team player, willing to help in all areas across the site

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent opportunity with a competitive salary of approximately £45,000 per annum, based on a standard full-time schedule. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm.
