We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to students with special educational needs in a wonderful school in Wareham.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and help adapt learning materials to meet the needs of each student.
- Support the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and promoting positive interactions among students.
- Help to monitor and record students' progress, reporting any concerns to the SENCo or class teacher.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages students' confidence and participation.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students with a range of needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
