Commissioning Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Technique-Recruitment Solutions Ltd, a specialist recruitment agency dedicated to the engineering and manufacturing industries.

About the Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of automated systems, including the programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Your expertise in electrical and mechanical disciplines will be essential in troubleshooting and modifying systems to enhance performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and modify control systems using PLCs, Servo drives, Robots, and other specialized controllers.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls equipment.
  • Modify systems through electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or software means to enhance performance.
  • Provide proactive feedback to the project team to enable project progress to be determined.
  • Participate in internal design reviews on existing or potential projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant vocational training or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in electrical and/or mechanical discipline.
  • Experience programming PLCs and HMIs using software such as Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Festo, Codesys, and Siemens.
  • Knowledge of script-based programming and setting up Servos, VFDs, Remote I/O, Ethernet, and Profibus networks.
  • Proven electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical experience within the automation industry.
  • Ability to follow electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams and drawings.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
