We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Conwy County Borough Council. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective repair, servicing, and maintenance of our fleet vehicles, plants, and equipment. Your primary duties will include routine service and repairs, parts ordering and fitting, pre-MOT assessments, and testing electric vehicles.
About YouTo thrive in this role, you must possess a high standard of education and essential qualifications like Level 3 NVQ in Light Motor Mechanics or equivalent. Holding a Class B license is mandatory, with higher driving categories being advantageous. Ideally, you have experience supervising apprentices or are willing to develop this skill. Essential to the role is your proficiency in Health and Safety practices, provision and use of work equipment, and lifting operations. You are adept at diagnosing and repairing electrical vehicles to industry standards and are skilled with diagnostic equipment, hand, and power tools. Prior experience in abrasive wheels and communication skills in English are crucial, while Welsh fluency is a bonus. Your personal qualities include being team-oriented, initiative-driven, motivated, effectively communicative, and possessing a robust toolkit.
What We OfferThis full-time position comes with an estimated annual salary of £38,000-£42,000, depending on experience.
