About the Role:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEMH needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to develop personalized support plans for each student. Your duties will include implementing strategies to de-escalate challenging situations, fostering a safe educational environment, and providing individual and group support to students who need extra help.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and fostering a safe educational environment
  • Providing individual and group support to students who need extra help
  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to develop personalized support plans for each student
  • Supporting teachers in designing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the unique abilities, learning styles, and needs of the students
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months' experience in an educational establishment
  • A calm, patient, and caring persona
  • Good communication skills
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
