Job Description

Astute People is partnering with a leading developer of renewable energy biogas plants to recruit a Junior Process Engineer for its operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaise with the Operations team to assist in scoping new projects and agree on the design scope.
  2. Produce engineering deliverables, including Mass/Energy Balances, BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment schedules, specifications/datasheets, and control philosophy.
  3. Provide input to layout/general arrangement drawings and support subcontracted equipment design/selection and contract document preparation.
  4. Support Project Engineers during the commissioning phase of major projects by ensuring P&IDs and equipment schedules are accurate.
  5. Develop and track process improvement projects from initial scope and design development to final handover to operations.
Requirements
  1. Degree qualified in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  2. Practical engineering experience or an industrial placement year would be advantageous.
  3. Able to use CAD or simulation software.
  4. Proficient in the use of IT such as MS Office programs.
  5. A Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  6. Confidently able to initiate projects and produce solutions to engineering problems.
  7. Has a commercial awareness.
