Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

TeacherActive is seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a highly respected and thriving primary school in a diverse and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils under the direction of the class teacher/SENCo to facilitate access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Work one-on-one with a child if required, maintaining a full-time and regular timetable.
  • Assist in planning and assessment, providing clear feedback on children's progress.
  • Support the learning and well-being of children with special educational needs (SEND).
  • Be an effective play facilitator and playground supervisor.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience working with children of relevant age.
  • Participation in development and training opportunities.
  • Ability to set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
  • Commitment to raising standards of children's learning and attainment.
  • Ability to support children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD.
  • Proactive, energetic, effective, and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
