Brondesbury Medical Centre is seeking a skilled Medication Coordinator Specialist to join their team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the prescription system.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about healthcare, possesses excellent organisational skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Pharmacy team and GPs in managing repeat prescriptions and medication queries. They will also be expected to maintain complete confidentiality of patients' records and clinically related matters at all times.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing medication requests sent in by patients using various protocols
  • Monitoring the prescription email and online patient access for medication requests and queries
  • Ensuring paper requests are processed daily
  • Processing patients' medication on set days as per the wall calendar
  • Printing patients' Dossett boxes on set days for pharmacies
  • Liaising with practice pharmacists to resolve queries and issues

Other key duties include:

  • Answering the telephone efficiently and helping with any queries
  • Liaising with patients and chemists regarding queries and requests
  • Ensuring repeat medication is issued in line with protocols and queries are dealt with accordingly
  • Highlighting patient queries on medication to the relevant GP or practice pharmacist
  • Removing details from patient records and destroying prescriptions that have not been picked up within a certain timeframe

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience of prescription clerk work in general practice or dispensing clerk work in community pharmacy
  • Ability to communicate professionally even under pressure
  • Flexibility and a strong team ethic
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
