About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Care Home Culinary Expert to join our team at Go To Outsourcing. As a key member of our care home kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring a high level of nutrition and taste.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small team of kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking of ingredients, to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety, adhering to relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Communication: Collaborate with care home staff, including nurses and care assistants, to ensure that residents' dietary needs are met and that kitchen operations run smoothly.
Requirements
  • Experience: 12+ months of experience as a head chef or in a similar senior kitchen role.
  • Certifications: Hold relevant chef certifications or have extensive experience cooking English-based cuisine.
  • Capacity: Ability to cook for 30+ people in one sitting, using fresh produce and English-style dishes.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early morning shifts, and adapt to changing kitchen demands.
  • Training: Comfortable with IDDSI training and able to work with 1 or 2 kitchen assistants.
  • Culinary Skills: Ability to bake cakes and pastries, as well as cook on the spot if needed.
