Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lifeguard to join our team at Ultimate Activity Camps. As a Specialist Instructor (Lifeguard), you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and safety of children on camp, while also delivering outstanding sports sessions, arts and crafts activities, and games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lifeguarding: Safeguard children during swimming sessions, maintaining a high level of vigilance and responding promptly to any incidents.
  • Activity Delivery: Prepare and deliver engaging activities for children aged 4-14, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
  • Group Leadership: Take a pastoral role as a group leader, welcoming new children into your group and liaising with the Camp Manager and/or parents as necessary.
  • Supervision: Supervise and engage with children outside of activity times, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Welfare Promotion: Continuously promote the welfare of children in your care, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, acting as a suitable role model for children.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure all policies and procedures on camp are adhered to, including health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other ad-hoc duties as required, such as cleaning and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • Lifeguard Qualification: Hold a valid lifeguard qualification (NARS or NPLQ) with a minimum depth in line with the facilities at the camp.
  • Enthusiasm and Energy: Be enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with children through play and activity.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good organisation and communication skills, with the ability to lead a group of children and take responsibility.
  • Flexibility: Be a flexible team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Ideally hold a relevant qualification (e.g., childcare, education, sports, or art) and experience working with children and delivering activities.
