Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Science Technician to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment. As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the science department by preparing and setting up laboratory equipment and materials for lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons and ensure all equipment is used safely
  • Maintain and organize the science laboratories and prep rooms
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of chemicals and equipment, placing orders as needed
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are met, conducting regular safety checks
  • Provide support in developing new experiments and improving existing practical activities
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the science department

Requirements:

  • A strong passion for science and education
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with staff and students
  • A DBS on the update service is essential
  • Previous technician-based experience is preferred but not required
