Job Summary:
LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and patient SEN teaching assistant to support a small group of EYFS children with special educational needs in a two-form entry Infant & Nursery School in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of communication and interaction skills in children with SEN through play-based activities.
- Work with the children in class and EYFS provision to promote their social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for children with SEN.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children with SEN to thrive.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare or education, or a minimum of 12 months' experience in an educational or nursery setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with ASD and non-verbal communication needs.
- Knowledge of the UK EYFS and Key Stage One primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, patient, and caring approach to working with children with SEN.
