Head of Mathematics and SEND

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to lead our mathematics and special educational needs (SEND) education programme. As Head of Mathematics and SEND, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative education solutions that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and launch an alternative education model for mathematics, taking a strategic lead in curriculum design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher to recruit and support tutors in delivering high-quality education.
  • Design and implement bespoke curricula that incorporate online learning and face-to-face teaching, tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work with local authorities and stakeholders to develop a high-quality provision that meets the needs of students with SEND.
  • Lead the development of the SEND curriculum, ensuring its embedding across the organisation.
  • Act as a lead practitioner, providing support and guidance to mathematics teachers across our schools.
  • Work with Headteachers to improve the quality of education across all our schools.
  • Support students accessing alternative education, including designing bespoke timetables.
  • Collaborate with safeguarding advisors to ensure comprehensive safeguarding and personal development plans are in place.

Requirements:

  • A deep commitment to students with SEND and a passion for innovative education.
  • At least two years' experience in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
  • QTS/QTLS qualification.
