Senior Project Engineer (Electrical Bias) Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of the MEICA Team, you will be responsible for managing and assisting in the placement of subcontracts and material orders, as well as providing technical expertise in the placement of subcontracts and material orders within your discipline area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management and assistance in the placement of subcontracts and material orders.
  • Technical expertise in the placement of subcontracts and material orders within your discipline area.
  • Vetting of subcontractors, inspecting their production, quality and installation.
  • Attending site progress meetings and production of reports.
  • Coordination of MEICA works to support design progress with the Design Manager.
  • Inspection of equipment as required at factory and on site including FATs and SATs.
  • Site supervision of sub-contractors during critical activities.
Requirements:
  • Display a high degree of technical knowledge and have relevant mechanical project engineering experience within a technical surrounding.
  • Programme focused with an ability to plan and organise resources both off and on site to deliver on time and in full.
  • Experience of working in a contractor-based background within the water industry on sewage and water treatment works.
  • Ideally be knowledgeable in all project engineer/management techniques required in the design and construction of water and/or sewage treatment works.
  • Understanding of NEC4 condition contract and budget control is also required.
  • Minimum HNC qualified in a mechanical engineering subject desirable.
  • IT literacy essential.
  • Professional qualification is desirable.
  • SMSTS safety qualification and relevant CSCS card is desirable.
