Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support SEND pupils in a mainstream primary setting. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the SENCO to develop and implement individualized plans to ensure the child's academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to SEND pupils in the classroom, promoting their engagement and participation in activities.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO to develop and review individualized education plans, ensuring consistency and continuity in the child's education.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure a collaborative approach to the child's education and well-being.

Requirements

  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 TA qualification or equivalent experience in a care background.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Calm, confident, and proactive attitude, with the ability to use initiative in challenging situations.
  • Availability for at least 3 days per week.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS, accessible on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
