About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Underwriter & Team Leader to join our team. As the first point of contact for the Cargo, Freight and Engineering portfolio, you will provide supervision and technical underwriting expertise to less experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working on-site with intermediaries/customers to deliver joint business development plans in line with our trading strategy.
- Developing strong relationships with allocated intermediaries, balancing their needs with our trading objectives.
- Planning and processing own work to assist the team in meeting customer service targets.
- Acting as a reference point on issues for allocated intermediaries/customers or less experienced staff.
- Assisting in maintaining a balanced and high-quality portfolio.
Requirements:
- A high level of competency in underwriting of Cargo, Freight or Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of the local market.
- Dip CII/ACII or substantial progress towards is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a non-contributory pension, private medical care, life assurance, and more.
