About the Role

As an Electrician with the New Zealand Defence Force, you will play a critical role in providing electrical support to the Army. Your main focus will be on maintaining and repairing electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment and systems
  • Install and test electrical systems and components
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
  • Collaborate with other trades and technical personnel to resolve electrical issues
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest electrical technologies and techniques

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Meet the citizenship and security requirements to gain CV security clearance for this trade
  • A Class 1 restricted licence is preferred, but is not compulsory
  • Colour perception restrictions apply

3 years secondary school.

Note, that qualifications may be used to assess trade suitability.

  • You must be medically fit for service

There are strict citizenship and security requirements to gain the required CV security clearance for this trade.
