We are seeking a Wildlife Researcher to join our team at FPCR Environment and Design Ltd, a leading integrated design practice working extensively throughout the UK.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Wildlife Researcher to lead ornithology surveys using various methodologies and techniques. You will maintain accurate field notes and plans, adhering to guidelines and best practices, and store data efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and present data, conduct desk-based studies, and draft technical reports.
- Support the completion of other ecological survey types as necessary, based on your skills and career goals.
- Provide advice on ecological and ornithological matters to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Mentor and support staff interested in Ornithology, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster their professional development.
- Prior experience in ornithological roles within the public or private sector is advantageous.
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field would be ideal.
- Excellent bird identification skills and experience in various ornithology surveys and techniques are essential.
- A willingness to travel for work, including irregular hours during spring and summer months.
- A good theoretical foundation in ecology, survey guidance, environmental assessment, and mitigation measures.
- Experience in writing reports with high standards and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with scientific data collection methods, data analysis, and aptitude for accurate and clear recording and storage of data.
- Able to work collaboratively with a team, both in-office and remotely.
- A competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
