Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating and leading a team of engineers within our Precision Engineering business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and distribute work across the team, working closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
  • Train and develop staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Attend team leader meetings to discuss project progress and team performance.
  • Manage new projects in partnership with the Commercial and Engineering teams.
  • Lead the Manufacturing and Planning Engineers to achieve business objectives.
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers to drive business growth.
  • Organize and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Calculate cost estimates and set up new Bill of Materials, sales orders, and production routings.
  • Lead engineering meetings to discuss project progress and team performance.

Requirements

  • Background in precision engineering - machining/fabrication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Competence in Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Lean Manufacturing background.
