Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our bank of casual staff at St Monica Trust. As a Bank Registered Nurse, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that suit your needs and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Clinical Care: Assess and monitor residents' needs, undertake clinical procedures, and administer medication as required.
  • Lead and Advocate: Role model a holistic approach to care, working collaboratively with the wider care home team to ensure the best possible outcomes for residents.
  • Leadership and Decision-Making: Take charge of admissions, discharges, complex clinical care needs, medical emergencies, and end-of-life care, making informed decisions to ensure the well-being of residents.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including GPs, pharmacists, residents, and their relatives and friends.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of clinical care, including care plans, audits, incidents, and changes to health and well-being.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications: Qualified and NMC Registered Nurse (adult level 1)
  • Knowledge and Experience: Working knowledge and understanding of CQC Regulations, Infection Control, Medication, GDPR, NMC standards, and the Mental Capacity Act. Experience of working with older people, those with disabilities, and/or dementia.
  • Leadership and Management: Experience of conducting clinical audits and risk assessments, writing and reviewing care plans, and keeping accurate records.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge of good practice in relation to health and safety, first aid, moving and handling, and infection control.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Supporting Students in Practice: Completion of (or willingness to complete) the Supporting Students in Practice course.
  • Further Qualifications: Working towards further professional qualifications.
  • People Management: Experience of people management skills.
  • Quality Assurance: Experience of quality assurance systems and reviewing and developing internal practices and policies.
Terms and Conditions

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and any criminal conviction, including spent convictions, must be disclosed at the time of application. Shifts are available as and when required, with a competitive hourly rate of £21.91 plus enhancements for bank and weekend shifts where applicable.
