Overview

Gleeson Homes is seeking a skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Regional Commercial team in delivering the Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets, and future growth requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build, as well as basic finance/commercial awareness and technical knowledge.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting management and reporting
  • Assisting the commercial team and following group policies and processes
  • Helping manage relationships with subcontractors, housing associations, and external partners
  • Determining and agreeing site start programs and assisting with commercial matters for new and existing developments
  • Participating in site visits, including current and new sites, and potential sites

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification or basic understanding of the role of Quantity Surveying
  • Basic knowledge of the Construction Industry
  • Basic knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls
  • Awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters, such as Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, and HSE
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulations
  • The desire and determination to work collaboratively and progress as a team
