Job Title: Future Engineering Sub-system Design Engineer Location: Warton Salary: £45,326+ depending on skills and experience Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Systems Design Team, you will be responsible for the design and development of future engineering sub-systems for the Typhoon aircraft. Key Responsibilities: * Analysis of system requirements and transposing them into system design * Creating and reviewing documentation for the wider FESS team and customers * Configuring supplier-provided software for successful application builds * Coaching and providing technical guidance to junior team members * Maintaining familiarity with current tools, software products, and processes * Managing time effectively to meet tight programme timescales Requirements: * Strong engineering background * Experience in system and software application design and architecture principles * Understanding of modelling techniques and tools (UML, Enterprise Architect, XML/XSD) * Experience with requirements analysis, elaboration, and management tools (Rational DOORS) * Experience with configuration and version control tools (Rational ClearCase, Git) * Experience with Windows operating systems environments, test processes, database technologies, and software development knowledge * Pro-active approach to problem-solving, ability to work as part of a team, and motivate others Desirable: * Experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL, etc.) * Experience with software application builds and deployment * Ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems, communicate complex ideas and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences Benefits: You will receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance, and a company-contributed Share Incentive Plan.
