Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at Willcox Matthews.

As a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, you will be responsible for observing and reporting on machinery defects, carrying out planned and preventative maintenance, and diagnosing faults in mechanical and electrical equipment.

You will work closely with our experienced maintenance team to ensure effective handover of information across shifts and implement improvements to our maintenance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and report on machinery defects and symptoms of impending failure
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules
  • Diagnose faults and test, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Work autonomously to complete breakdown tasks and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Record work carried out in CMMS documentation
  • Interpret and implement technical service instruction data
  • Previous experience with CMMS systems is desirable
  • Lead shift-based problem solving and identify improvements
  • Use and support 5WHY and RCA techniques
  • Support departmental 5S programmes
  • Use CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives
  • Accurately record parts taken out using CMMS stores system
  • Complete all records and paperwork legibly and accurately
