University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer the opportunity to work with us as a Band 7 Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP). The trust is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Macmillan Acute Oncology Service (MAOS) as a Cancer Care ACP Team Member.

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a trainee to join our dynamic and well-established team of Cancer Care ACPs in the Macmillan Acute Oncology Service (MAOS).

About the Role

The Cancer Care ACP team is divided into the Inpatient and MAOS ACP teams to provide seamless care for our service users. As a trainee, you will work within the unit to learn how to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who attend following triage by the Cancer Care Emergency Helpline service or by referral from pre-hospital healthcare professionals, primary care, or the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you will work alongside the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice as outlined in the HEE Multi-professional Framework (2017).

As a tACP, you are expected to work in conjunction with the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice as outlined in the HEE Multi-professional Framework (2017).

What We Offer

All Advanced Clinical Practice Education is set around the 4 Pillars Framework that includes Clinical, Leadership & Management, Research & Development, and Education. You will be enrolled on a fully funded Masters Level Academic pathway during your training and this study would take place alongside clinical work. The service operates 24/7, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. We are happy to consider either part-time working at 30 hours per week minimum or full-time at 37.5 hours.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development and will be able to demonstrate the skills and competencies outlined in the person specification.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications and skills include registration as a healthcare professional on the relevant part of the NMC or HCPC register, completion of a healthcare degree, and the ability to commit to and complete a Masters Level Academic pathway during your training. Desired qualifications and skills include completion of the HTPA competencies, independent non-medical prescribing qualification, and leadership qualification.
