About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Architect to lead our data engineering team in designing and implementing end-to-end solutions for our datalake initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in architecting and designing scalable and extensible data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of data engineering solutions using Spark and Databricks
  • Manage a remote team of 15 engineers, driving improvements in design, processes, and implementation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop data solutions
  • Develop and maintain data warehouses and data lakes
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements:

  • Strong implementation experience using Spark and Databricks
  • Strong Cloud experience (ideally Azure)
  • Previously heavily involved in an implementation programme
  • Data Warehouse
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Excellent IT background, ideally within Telco / Wireless service providers but not essential
