This role is ideal for an engineer or scientist who can undertake technical assessments and provide advice on the major hazards associated with nuclear and explosives products.brbrbKey Responsibilities:/bbrbr- Provide safety information to operators to incorporate into their Safety Casesbr- Undertake nuclear safety assessments and safety management activitiesbr- Develop electronic Safety Case tools (eSC)br- Advise on safety-related research experiments or topicsbr- Teach nuclear product safetybrbrbRequirements:/bbrbr- Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Science or Engineering or a related subjectbr- PhD candidates would also be suited to this rolebr- Previous experience working on munitions and/or nuclear reactors or other high-hazard industriesbr- Knowledge of Safety Case content and ALARP determinationbr- Understanding of Defence or Civil nuclear regulationsbr- Ability to undertake critical analysis and assessment of complex systemsbr- Effective communication skills (written, presentation, and spoken)br- Leadership or management of related safety projectsbrbrbBenefits:/bbrbr- 9-day working fortnightbr- Market-leading contributory pension schemebr- Family-friendly policiesbr- Opportunities for Professional Career Developmentbr- Employee Assistance Programme and Occupational Health Servicesbr- Life Assurancebr- Discountsbr- Special Leave PolicybrbrbSecurity Clearance:/bbrbr- You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
