Job Overview:
The Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Fellow to work in conjunction with other junior medical staff contributing to the obstetrics and gynaecology services. This position will commence as soon as possible and will be for a period of 6 months.

Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for working in clinics, operating sessions, ward rounds, and special interest sessions if the rota permits. A delivery suite duty is 3rd on-call, depending on experience and rota availability. The Trust provides 108 hours of consultant presence on Delivery Suite, hence there is ample opportunity for direct supervision and training on Delivery Suite.

The Trust offers a complete range of obstetric and gynaecological services, serving a large multiracial local community. We are a tertiary centre for perinatal care and are the regional centre for Fetal Medicine and Clinical Genetics.

Person Specification:
Qualifications/Training:
  • Full GMC registration
  • Qualified to undertake on-call work on the ST6-7 Tier in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Desirable:
  • Qualified to undertake on-call work on the ST6-7 Tier
  • Up to date in emergency obstetrics/gynaecology procedures
Experience and Skills:
  • Ability to offer clinical opinion/treatment on a range of problems both emergency and elective within the specialty
  • Ability to take responsibility for clinical care of patients
  • MRCOG Part 1
Supervisory Experience and Communication Skills:
  • Ability to work in a team-orientated environment and to work without friction with colleagues
Motivation and Disposition Personal Qualities:
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure
  • Good organisational & management skills
Salary and Benefits:
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £70,000 per annum
