We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Community Treatment Team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative community service, providing rapid response to patients in their own homes who are at risk of hospital admission. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be part of a friendly and approachable team who work well together, and will be well supported by your senior management team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their own homes, focusing on maintaining independence and avoiding hospital admission.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to prioritize caseloads and provide responsive care to patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the needs of patients with a wide range of conditions, including neurological, orthopaedic, falls, long-term conditions, and musculoskeletal.
  • Collaborate with other community services, including health and social care, to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of occupational therapy services, including policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience of working at B5/B6 level in a community or hospital setting.
  • Previous NHS experience, with a strong understanding of the NHS values and principles.
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays, with a willingness to participate in on-call rotas.
