We are seeking a talented Freight Optimization Specialist to join our team in Felixstowe. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for optimising freight movements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement effective transport plans for container movements, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with regulations.

  • Collaborate with shipping lines, ports, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation.
  • Analyse transport performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimise delivery times and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards throughout the transportation process.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide updates on transport operations and address any concerns they may have.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in transport planning, specifically with container logistics.
  • A strong understanding of transport regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
