Job Summary

Campden BRI's Sensory Testing Services play a crucial role in helping food and beverage companies create winning and high-quality products. Our highly trained sensory panels evaluate products using a wide range of methods, providing valuable insights to inform product development and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Sensory Project Manager and the wider descriptive panel with projects and training, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
  • Coordinate all Panel Acuity activities, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.
  • Become proficient in the use of Compusense sensory data collection software, leveraging its capabilities to drive business growth.
  • Prepare samples safely using good food hygiene practices, ensuring the integrity of the sensory evaluation process.
  • Coordinate sample receipt and organize the purchase, storage, and preparation of panel training and reference samples, maintaining a well-organized and efficient workflow.
  • Support the panel leader with the compilation of technical reports, including data analysis, to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support other Sensory Insights teams and projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science, Technology, or a related field, or previous experience in a sensory science role or laboratory environment.
  • Completion of the 'One Day Introduction to Sensory Analysis' course and '4 Day Sensory Evaluation Workshop' or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in sensory science principles.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple food categories, with a deep understanding of consumer preferences and sensory evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent organizational, practical, and panel facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to communicate complex sensory concepts to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create high-quality reports and presentations.
