Packhouse Operative Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Packhouse Operative to join our team at MC Personnel. As a Packhouse Operative, you will be responsible for handling and packing fruit in a busy warehouse environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leading by example with a positive and professional attitude
- Reducing waste by ensuring good fruit and packaging are not wasted
- Handling fruit in a way that does not cause damage or quality issues
- Ensuring all unused packaging is returned at the end of each job
- Maintaining health and safety standards on site, staff, and product
- Ensuring food hygiene standards are met on site, staff, and product
- Minimizing the risk of hazards identified within the company
- Following 'Clean as you go' and 'GMP' procedures
- Completing relevant paperwork in full and to a high standard
Other Responsibilities:
- Providing cover for colleagues when needed
- Carrying out reasonable requests and showing flexibility while maintaining a positive attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £11.44 per hour (day shift), £14.30 per hour (night shift), overtime paid after 48 hours
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week, with overtime available during busy periods
Benefits: On-site parking
Schedule: Monday to Sunday, with some shifts including weekend days
