About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Probation Officer. As a Probation Services Officer Trainee, you will play a vital role in supporting offenders to change their behavior and reduce the risk of reoffending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a Probation Services Officer while earning a professional qualification
  • Visit prisons and attend courts to make interventions with offenders
  • Help offenders understand their behavior and want to change it
  • Support offenders to build a more positive future and reduce the risk of reoffending

Requirements
  • A recognised Level 3 qualification or above
  • Emotional intelligence, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and de-escalate potentially volatile situations
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Experience of working with people who have demonstrated challenging behavior
